Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Quotedle (“we”, “us”, or “the site”) is a simple browser-based word game hosted at playquotedle.com. We respect your privacy and try to collect as little data as possible. This page explains what we store, what third-party services may see, and what choices you have.

1. Who we are

Quotedle is an independent project maintained by Liam Collins. For any question about this policy, or a request to delete or correct data related to you, please email [email protected].

2. What data Quotedle itself stores

Quotedle does not require an account, does not ask for your email, and does not operate a user database. The following information is stored locally in your browser using the localStorage API, and never sent to our servers:

This data lives on your device. It is tied to the browser you are using. If you clear your browser’s site data, open the site in a different browser, or use a private/incognito window, that data resets. We have no way to recover it because we never receive a copy.

3. Server logs

When your browser requests a page from Quotedle, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives standard web traffic information: an IP address, a user-agent string, the URL requested, and a timestamp. These logs are used only for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic statistics. We do not link these logs to any identity.

4. Third-party services

Google AdSense

Quotedle displays advertising via Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may place cookies and similar technologies on your device in order to serve, limit, and measure ads. Specifically:

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare’s privacy practices are described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

5. Cookies

Quotedle itself does not set any cookies. Cookies that appear on your device while using the site are set by Google AdSense or by Cloudflare for security purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies will not affect your ability to play.

6. Children’s privacy

Quotedle is a word puzzle suitable for a general audience, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the site requires no account and stores no personal information on our servers, there is no data to associate with a child or any other specific individual. Parents and guardians who are concerned about advertising to minors can block ad cookies or use an ad-blocking browser extension.

7. Your choices

8. GDPR and regional rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar data-protection rules, you have a right to request information about any personal data we hold about you, to ask that we correct or delete it, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because Quotedle does not collect personal data on its servers, most of these requests will simply confirm that we have no records to produce.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and, for any significant change, add a note on the home page for at least a week.

10. Contact

Questions or requests about this policy go to [email protected].
